Hello all. I'm curious to know if anyone knows how to alter the arrangement of the channels in the EPG. I don't mean deleting them but actually reconfiguring their place on the EPG line up. I've gone from a 7160 to 7170 and the EPG populates differently. Go figure. I'd like the same grouping I had on the 7160 which I had been pleased with for ages. It's altered minimally over time as the broadcaster chop & change their channel thingamagiggys. The 7170 has the last firmware upgrade and I've investigated the latest SmartEpg TAP which I thought would allow me to reorder the EPG's channel list but to no avail. Has anyone used the Robochannel TAP? Please don't ask why I want to alter the channel list ....., I'm just pedantic that way. I could go back to the 7160 after replacing the 500GB HD which has seen better days, but having a 1TB HD on the 7170 is so much nicer. Does anyone know whether the 7160 would operate with a 1TB HD? Thank you for your time. - Alex

The EPG screen is presented in the sequence that the channels are stored in the flash memory of the PVR.

You could try using the 'ChannelListSaver' TAP.

http://mc.tms-taps.net/ChannelListSaver/

Save the channel list from your old PVR and then load it into your new PVR.

Double-check timers once the operation is complete.

If your old PVR is unavailable, the TAP creates a text file.  Simply edit that file and then reload.  Be careful of the EOL sequences.  I also believe that there is some sort of checksum in the text file too.

Thanks for the heads up DMC. Just reading about what's involved makes me think I'll screw things up big time! 🤔 I'd give it a whirl, but I got lucky with persisting on SmartEPG and found altering the 2nd last setting listed gave me an EPG list I'm familiar with. Too bad for me I don't like SmartEPG as much as the native EPG. I'm Toppied-out for the time being. It happens so easily. Best saved for rainy days. Thanks again. 😊
