Not sure if I am going gaga here. I used to run the opto audio out for years and now that I want to run the sound to the TV via HDMI there is no sound. Opto still works.
Anyone had stuff like this happening?
Can't find any setup menu that deals with this.
Factory reset done. The TV HDMI input works with other sources.

Cheers

I don't have this exact model, but I also have HDMI issues.  For me, the startup sequence is important:  From cold, the TV must be on before the PVR.  However, when I am on pay TV without the PVR being on, I need to power-cycle the TV to get PVR sound once the PVR has started.  Give it a go.

Thanks. Tried that both ways. No luck. Hardware fault should be unlikely. The workings of HDMI are still a mystery to me. Will have to do a lot of reading up...

If the TV has component video input, you can try that instead. Most modern TVs can accept up to 1080p via component. Cannot remember if the 6211 has component input, I have not used mine for some years. If so it may support 1080p out via component.

Thanks Ian, I checked and it only has component [frown]
Thinking about hard-wiring the audio to the HDMI plug.
Edit: Just looked at the pin out and saw that Audio is not separate...
